I am an abstract painter in the broadest sense. I typically work in series, each
   exploring a particular theme or subject.
   My painting process often incorporates Surrealist and automatist techniques, 
   including frottage, collage, decalcomania, grattage, and stamping. I work with 
   a diverse range of materials - varnish, ash, sand, fabric, pigment, pastel, Chinese 
   ink, emulsion, and acrylic - applied to a variety of surfaces, including wood, felt, 
   roofing slate, rice paper, and traditional canvas.
   Some of my works are semi-abstract, retaining a figurative reference through an 
   organic, dystopian, or planetary visual language. They occupy a space between 
   abstraction and recognisable forms, while remaining pre-representational: imagery 
   emerges through the interaction of material, process, and chance rather than from 
   a predetermined image. 
   My pictures can never truly be finished. They are the remnants of a wild, organic 
   process in which tools are lost and intentions become uncertain. They are relics 
   in every sense of the word.
